In our histology practicals, we had spots where we had to do on the spot identification looking at the slide through a microscope to tell what part of the body it was taken from. Basic tissue includes bone, tendons, cartilage, muscle, etc. In the bone slide, Haversian system is seen. Tendons have parallel collagen fibres. Cartilage has chondrocytes and muscle has myocytes.
We thus look for the most frequently occurring cells and their arrangement.
This blog is about the life of a medical student in Mumbai...I have tried to include many posts which readers will really find useful, interesting and fun to read even if they are not medical students. I have tried to make things as easy to understand as possible, and if anyone happens to have any doubts or issues they can feel free to comment in the post or email me at premedstud@gmail.com. I hope you enjoy going through my blog!
