4 layered tubular structures

These include esophagus, stomach, intestines and appendix. Esophagus has stratified squamous epithelium which differentiates it from the rest of the gastrob intestinal tract. The appendix lumen is star shaped. Villi are only present in the small intestine. Such features help to identify the particular tissue concerned.
